Earlier this month, Activision's Call of Duty: Warzone hit a milestone with over 60 million players having taken part since it launched in March. Those players who are interested in customizing the vehicles they can find throughout the battle royale's giant map can turn to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare store and pick up a special "Plunder Pack" that bundles a collection of vehicle skins together.
The Plunder Pack was first advertised on the Activision Games Blog on May 11, where it was described as having special gold-and-black skins with tinted windows "for every drivable vehicle" in Modern Warfare's multiplayer, Warzone, and Special Ops. It "returns" this week according to the Call of Duty Twitter account, which included a video advertisement voiced by rapper Alvin "Xzibit" Joiner, who is labeled as the "Warzone Minister of Flexin'."
The customizable vehicle skins certainly stand out as a status symbol for players, and the Activision Games Blog encourages those who buy it to make sure their squads leave their foes "in the dust... Some gold dust, that is." Designs for vehicles released in the past have certainly been interesting to say the least thanks to additions like Modern Warfare and Warzone's Anime Express Bundle that implemented a cutesy "Senpai" skin, and Activision tells players to "stay tuned" for more on the way.
For those who are more interested in the gameplay than the customization options in Activision's first-person shooter titles, Modern Warfare and Warzone are seeing fairly consistent updates even during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. For instance, one recently discovered feature in Warzone lets players locate their opponents by watching how birds react to a user's presence.
However, anyone who likes standing out amid a crowded field of soldiers also has plenty of options even beyond vehicle skins introduced through bundles like the Plunder Pack. There are a number of playable operators for players to choose from, and each of those operators have great and not-so-great skins to equip.
Some of the cosmetic purchases players can make in the Call of Duty store may also serve a greater purpose. Activision recently put out a "Fearless Pack" that benefits the Call of Duty Endowment, a charity service helping place unemployed veterans into high-quality jobs.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone are available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
