So last night I was bored and decided the only thing to do was to play with make-up.
I made a green mascara! Then I decided to investigate the best way to make glitter stick to the eyelids.
I started by using Urban Decay's Blackout eyeshadow across the lid before adding MAC mixing medium for eyeliner all over the lid then pressing loose glitter into the mix. I've been looking for a way to make glitter stick in a solid block across eyelids. I am happy to say it worked! I had heard of some artist's using Duo adhesive glue but I was wary of this on the eye and also worried about it peeling off.
I then winged out the liner using a black chromographic pencil from MAC in blackest black. Chromograph pencils are excellent as they are so creamy you can spread them easily to make winged out liner.
Finally, to make the green mascara. I used MAC mixing medium for lashes mixed with MAC green PRO pigment. Mixing it together before using a flat brush to bat my lashes against. This does not curl the lashes or add volume so I would suggest using a curling wand beforehand to get the volume and shape. I then kept building it up to add color.
I tried to add some green liner but I wasn't impressed with it! All you have to do then is wait for it to set!
You'll need Lash mixing medium and the color pigment of your choice. I used Green Space PRO pigment from MAC.
Also, make sure that any glitter you use on your eyes is eyeshadow glitter or glitter that is safe to use in the eye area. A lot of craft shop glitters are too big for the eyes which means they can damage the eyeball or cut the skin. Cosmetic glitters are cut smaller and finer to avoid this. You can really damage yourself using the wrong glitter!
